observations from a novelist who sometimes wants to say something small and see it published immediately

A while back I saw one of my books in the window of Powells on Hawthorne.  I went inside and asked at the counter. What made them decide on my book? Well, they said, they were going for an orange theme.

See how arbitrary things are?

  1. Hi Alison,
I found you via Paper Fort and your new venture publishing Twenty Questions as an ebook; I recently went fully self-pubbed (and was also recently featured on Paper Fort). I’d love to talk more about your experience and also possible promotional opportunities. (Marketing is exhausting and perhaps we can share ideas?)

Subscribed to your blog, by the way, and looking forward to reading more.
